Dr. Holmes, a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan,  established the Women’s Mid-life Health Program of Saskatchewan, which became part of the Women’s Health Centre at Saskatoon City Hospital. It provide consultation services, educational opportunities for Nursing students, Public Health Masters Students, residents in Family Medicine and Gynecology. In 2003 she was awarded Saskatchewan Family Physician of the Year, and in 2011, was recognized for Excellence in Medical Care from the Saskatoon District Medical Society.
