Jennie David, PhD(c) is a clinical pediatric psychology doctoral student at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. Her research specializes in medical decision-making for pediatric autoimmune conditions and high-risk decisions, including biologic therapy and ostomy surgery. Jennie has lived with Crohn’s disease for the past 12 years and a permanent ileostomy for over 5 years, and has worked as an advocate within the Inflammatory Bowel Disease, ostomy, and chronic illness worlds. She has participated in activities of the ImproveCareNow network since 2012. During her time as the co-chair of the network’s Patient Advisory Council, Ms. David led a variety of advocacy and research projects, including the pediatric ostomy toolkit. She looks forward to becoming a pediatric psychologist working with children and families living with pediatric chronic illness.
