Francine Girard, RN, B.Sc(N), M.Sc(N), Ph.D(N) is Chair of the Québec Task Force on the Working Conditions of Nurses. Before coming to the Université de Montréal in 2007, Dr. Girard was Associate Clinical Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Calgary and Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta. She was also Vice President, Western Region, with the Victorian Order of Nurses. As Director of Nursing and Principal Vice President for Professional Practice and Research for the Calgary Health Region, she greatly influenced change towards a quality working environment, significant nursing retention and the promotion of research in the clinical milieu and in health human resources.
