Project Lead, Transforming the Patient Care Experience, Bruyère Continuing Care
Sandra Schmidt, RN, BSc, MEd, has expertise as Professor of Nursing, Nursing Educator, and Health Care Administrator in both the long-term care and hospital sector and in a leadership role with experience in knowledge translation implementing the RAI (Resident Assessment Instrument) assessments in two sectors throughout the Province of Ontario. She has over nine years’ experience as a Surveyor for Accreditation Canada promoting both quality improvement and patient safety standards throughout healthcare organizations across Canada. She is committed to using LEAN Six Sigma methods and tools to co-design quality initiatives with patients and families in sub-acute and post-acute hospital settings. Most recently, as the Project Lead for Transforming the Patient Care Experience, she is co-designing and coordinating initiatives with patients and families to improve the patient care experience during transitions and at the bedside.
